Juniors and seniors at St. John’s attended a panel discussion during Poverty Education Week facilitated by the National Coalition for the Homeless in D.C. Speakers shared their experiences with homelessness and talked to students about what can be done.
The Sabre staff compiled quotes that resonated with the student body during the discussion
“If you ask for strength, he’ll give you storms to get through”
“It’s only me versus me.”
“When you step through pain, I didn’t know how much strength and beauty was in the other side. You have to step through it.”
“Go home and tell whoever’s at home that you love them.”
